About Cape Chat
Cape Chat
is a free to the public, coffee-coloured 4-page tabloid format
newspaper distributed monthly in over 700 coffee shops across the Cape
Peninsula. With 7 areas, Cape Chat can offer advertisers and readers,
area specific advertising and content, making Cape Chat an effective,
uncluttered advertising platform and a delightful “on your doorstep”
read in a relaxed environment and in the time it takes to enjoy a
coffee break. Cape Chat content lasts the month and encourages people
to pocket for reference during the month.
Cape Chat’s friendly, conversational tone and direct approach to
connecting with the reader, generates a “sharing good information with
each other” feeling and a sense of optimism, adventure and enthusiasm,
which inspires and encourages the reader to Go, See & Do. All
content is geared towards helping readers to enrich their living by
experiencing what’s featured – in just the same way you would recommend
something to a friend. Cape Chat is the next best thing to “word of
mouth”.
We started Cape Chat in November 2004. Having launched one Cape Chat
publication we have grown to 7 publications and deliver a total of
56,000 copies of Cape Chat every month. Cape Chat is a team of 12;
owners Alice and Kate employ 5 permanent staff and 5 freelance staff.
